Based on a rendition of Kanye West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” RUNAWAY song (Cinematic VMA Rework) poem:
Child’s Mind
1. Use your creative energy to transform others.
The artist aims for perfection
He wants to be the best
Every day is spent pushing the images that haunt his dreams. When we see his work, we feel this energy
it transforms us.
When you create art, harness your energy, and transmit that energy to your viewer– and to transform them. To empower them. To give them more hope, optimism, and excitement for the future!
2. Creative destruction
He advances culture by destroying what came before, so we can start anew.
Creative destruction: the concept is that by destroying your past self, you can create your new (today and future) self.
Don’t get too hung up on the work you’ve created in the past. Forget the past work, and focus on creating NEW art!
3. Follow your own personal truth
He doesn’t just feel; he follows his truth wherever it leads.
Whatever you believe to be true — follow your own inner-voice, and never self-censor yourself! Realize that your brutal honesty might ruffle a few feathers, and even if you’re “wrong” or hurt others; realize– that is part of you being a human being:
If his honesty brings chaos; it doesn’t make him wrong, it makes him a person.
4. See the world through the eyes of a child
It’s important to stay idealistic ; to be vulnerable, to see the world through the eyes of a child: free, open, full of wonder and imagination. He shares his dreams with us.
See the world through the eyes of a child. Follow your curiosity, allow yourself to ask ‘foolish’ questions (why? why? why?) and share your dreams with others!
5. Fight for yourself as a visionary.
We have to fight for our visionaries. he won’t go gently into victory, and we’re better for it.
If you’re an entrepreneur, a risk-taker, or a visionary; realize that your personal-victory will be an uphill battle. You will encounter a lot of ‘haters’, nay-sayers, and friction. You might experience moments of self-doubt, frustration, anger/anxiety/depression.
Ignore the art critics; and follow your own gut.
YOU GOT THIS.
